Go Ahead — Run It up the Flagpole
At Knot Just Decks, we’ve been installing flagpoles for more than 25 years.
We carry, install and service all sorts of flagpoles, from residential house-mounted flagpoles to 80’ commercial flagpoles. (If you need a part for your flagpole or new rope, we can help with that, too.)
How to Select the Right Location
An in-ground flagpole is a wonderful enhancement to any piece of real estate, whether residential or commercial. But it’s important to select the proper location before installing your flagpole.
For instance, do you want to be able to view the flag from your window, or would you prefer that it be visible to passersby? Perhaps you can select a location that satisfies both criteria.
Another consideration would be wind accessibility. Much of the enjoyment of flagpole ownership comes from seeing your flag(s) waving majestically in the wind. But if your flagpole is situated too close to a stand of trees or even a large building, it might not get enough wind to make your flags fly. So be sure to select a location that will allow the wind to reach your flag from multiple directions.
Finally, consider lighting. You can enhance your flag’s beauty by placing your flagpole a good distance from other trees or buildings. This will allow the maximum amount of natural light to illuminate your flag.
Looking for Something Less Permanent?
If you love the idea of a flagpole, but you’re unsure if an in-ground pole is right for you, consider a portable flagpole. At Knot Just Decks, we now offer the ultimate telescoping 20’ flagpole for home and business use.
This remarkable pole not only eliminates the tangling, noise, maintenance and hassle of conventional flagpoles, it also allows you to attach and fly two flags easily and beautifully. It’s easy to use, and easy to install.
And because it’s also portable, you can take it with you to sporting events, races and tailgate parties.
Our telescoping flagpole extends easily in seconds with just the push of a button, with no ropes and no clanging hardware.
It uses 360-degree rotating collars to ensure your flags fly freely without tangling. It’s made of aircraft-quality aluminum which is both rustproof and maintenance-free.
What’s more, this amazing flagpole has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval and comes with the industry’s best warranty.
Before You Install…
It’s important that you research all of the local regulations that may affect your property before installing a flag or flagpole. (For instance, some communities have height restrictions.) Also, if you live within a Homeowners’ Association, check with the covenants, conditions and restrictions.
Finally, regardless of where you live, make sure your flag and flagpole comply with the U.S. Flag Code’s guidelines for displaying of the Stars and Stripes:
- When flying the U.S. flag, remember to never place another flag or pennant directly above it. Even if the U.S. flag is flown on an individual flagpole, a state or community flag should always be lower in height. The United States flag should be at the center and higher than any other flags.
- When raising and lowering the flags, the U.S. flag should always be the first one raised and the last one lowered.
- When flying the U.S. flag with that of another nation, each on individual flagpoles, make sure that the two flags are at the same height and of the same size.
